A Mother Runs Away....

I am sure I can speak for most Mothers out there ~ there are those days when you just want to run away. Escape. Leave -  if only for a little while.  Not make dinner, not make the beds, not sign one more permission slip.   But we all know what would happen if we did.  Beside the fact that the State Troopers would find our mini-van's at the closest coffee shop across state lines, all hell would break loose at home.  We would return to the ketsup stained McDonald's bags on the counter, left over from the dinner Fun Dad picked up.  Kids sleeping in sleeping bags on top of the mattress pad -  now we'd have to wash both the sheets and the sleeping bags, and crying kids because they are going to miss the trip to the local ballet because they didn't turn their slip in.    So instead of permanently running away, I decided that I might just pretend to, do something FOR ME, and get in shape while I was at it.    I knew I couldn't run for very long starting out.  The last time I ran for any length of time, or very fast, was when I forgot my pre-schoolers Halloween costume - on the day of the Halloween Party at school.    For now I will run ... but return back home.  Who else is going to put that half-dried load of white clothes that has been sitting on top of the drier next to the half-dried load of darks,  for 2 days, before they bleed into each other?  They need me.....
